Sharon Kay Dengler

TYLER — Sharon Kay (Pittman) Dengler was born July 26, 1956, in Dallas and passed
away Thursday, March 6, 2003, at her home in Flint after losing a long, hard battle with
cancer.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 27 years, Gerard “Jerry” C. Dengler, age 47, and a
son, Jeremy A. Dengler, age 23, both of Flint; her parents, Hubert M. and Virginia A.
Pittman of Chandler; a sister, Deborah G. Pittman Gentry and her husband, Joseph H.
Gentry and sons, Michael, Joshua, Jacob and Zachary Gentry, all of Chandler; a brother,
Curtis R. Pittman and his daughter, Austyne M. Pittman, of Evans, Colo. Other survivors
include a large group of much loved aunts, uncles and cousins.
Sharon owned and operated an entertainment booking agency for 10 years. After retiring
from that business in 1993, she spent time as a homemaker. From 1996 to 1998, she
went to work for Thompson Hill and from 1999 to 2002, she worked as accounting
manager for Cannon Steel. Sharon spent much of her time at home on Lake Palestine
gardening. Sharon was also an avid golfer and was a member of Oakhurst Golf Course.
Sharon and her family are members of Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler.
Services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 8, in the old chapel at Green Acres Baptist
Church followed by a gathering at her home on Lake Palestine.
At her request, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice House of East
Texas or the Tyler Cancer Center.
