We're proud to celebrate our roots in Odessa, Texas

We are all blessed in knowing each other and even though we are apart,
there remains a huge network of love and support from each of us to one
another out there across the country. Always know that no matter what,
you are loved, you are cared for by those of us who grew up together and
who have made it down the path of life so far in our lives.
We even made the KOSA news.
ODESSA, Texas (KOSA)
The Permian High School class of 1974 celebrated their 50th anniversary.
They had their night at the MCM Grande Fun Dome before coming together
again today for a memorial service.
About 200 people registered for the class reunion on Saturday.
(FYI. we have 220+ between both Friday & Saturday Night)
It was an opportunity for former classmates to see their friends
again and to catch up on everything that has happened in life over
the past 50 years. Friends reconnected after not seeing each other
for decades. Friendships were renewed and new friendships were made
at the reunion. It all came back to Permian High.
“It’s wonderful. You have a handful that you always kept in touch with seeing folks
that you haven’t seen in 30 years or 40 years. It’s a bond that you don’t have with
anybody else.” said PHS Class of 74 Steve Hurt.
On Saturday the class of 1974 got a tour of Permian High School.
About 150 members of the class were recognized on Friday night at the
Permian High game against Midland Legacy.
“It’s a lot of fun to see what you did in high school. We saw the game
and be together,” said PHS Class of 1974 Committee member
Michele Shreiner Weber.
There was a board with pictures of former Permian High students from the
class of 74 who passed away, giving those who attended a chance to
honor the friends they miss.
The 50th-anniversary reunion has been in the works for about a year.
“It’s a long process and we are trying to find classmates that we
haven’t seen in 40 or 50 years and we are trying to get in touch
with them. So you need to start early to get their emails to
chat with them so we brought in a few people who haven’t been
here in a while,” said Steve Hurt.
This could be their last organized reunion, but they are not shutting the door in celebrating their 55th anniversary.
“The lady who is in charge said, I am not doing this again, but I think she said
that at the 40th so we are going to give her a couple of years to forget and work up
another in the 55th or 60th,” said Steve Hurt.
